I'm Gabriela Almeida, raised in Santana de Parnaíba, building my career inside Latin America's largest bank.
I started as an intern at Santander in 2019, in the customer service area, extracting data and building reports in Excel and Tableau. What began as support turned into specialization — I learned Oracle, Pentaho, Qlik and Power BI while diving deep into the Cards product. All of this alongside my Bachelor's degree in Information Systems at FMU, which I completed in 2021.
Over nearly 6 years, I was promoted four times. From IT Analyst Jr to Platform Engineer Specialist IV, through migrations of Oracle processes to the Data Lake and, more recently, to the Cloud with Microsoft Azure. Each promotion came with more technical responsibility and broader scope: from management reports to Datamarts, from Datamarts to the Data Lake, from the Data Lake to the Cloud.
Today I am the main technical reference for Santander's Cards Informational Platform — I develop and maintain Datamarts, create strategic dashboards and lead the migration of processes to Azure. I've also started my first formal people management experience.
The next step is clear: deepen my knowledge in AI and data management with the MBA in Digital Business Management and Artificial Intelligence from USP/Esalq. This blog is where I document that journey.
